Annually, the National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP) partnership, holds a training Improving Public Health: Exploring Agency, Systems, & Community Health Improvement Training, sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its NPHPSP and accreditation partners. The annual training is typically held in May.
The training offers opportunities to learn about public health agency accreditation, systems performance standards, quality improvement, health assessment and improvement planning, and how all of these support an overall public health improvement strategy.

The Agency & Systems Improvement Webinar, Designing and Implementing a QI Plan is now available.
Overview of Webinar:
Why should a public health department build a Quality Plan? What should it include? Who should be involved in developing the plan? How will this help us in our accreditation activities?
In this webinar, John W. (Jack) Moran, Quality Advisor to the Public Health Foundation, described the elements of a QI plan, followed by a local and state example. Sonja Armbruster, Community Health Assessment Coordinator at the Sedgwick County Health Department in Kansas, and Erin Barkema, Public Health Advisor at the Iowa Department of Public Health Bureau of Communication and Planning, shared how their agencies developed and implemented QI plans.
