NNPHI's 11th Annual Conference will take place May 21-23, 2012 at the historic Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This year's theme, Leveraging Public Health Institutes for Systems Change, will share examples of public health institutes working in close collaboration with state and local health departments - and a broad range of other partners - to support current opportunities for systems change, such as implementation of the Affordable Care Act, the growing field of Health Impact Assessments, National Voluntary Accreditation and the National Public Health Improvement Initiative, and Community Health Assessments.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Call for Proposals: Roadmaps to Health Community Grants Program: Deadline for Receipt of Full Proposals

Background Information/Seeking: On February 28, 2012, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Community Catalyst issued a call for proposals for the second round of funding under the Roadmaps to Health Community Grants program. The goal is to issue up to 20 new grants (of up to $200,000 each) in 2012 to organizations that address one of the social or economic factors that, as defined by the County Health Rankings, most strongly influence health outcomes in their community.
Important Dates:
- March 20, 2012 (12:00-1:30 PM ET): Applicant Web conference call (first in the series). Registration is required.
- April 10, 2012 (12:00–1:30 PM ET): Applicant Web conference call (second in the series). Registration is required.
- May 2, 2012 (3:00 PM ET): Deadline for receipt of brief proposals
- July 25, 2012 (3:00 PM ET): Deadline for receipt of full proposals
Project Timeline:
- Late September 2012: Notification of finalists
- November 1, 2012: Start of grants (Grantees will have up to 24 months to implement their proposed policy or system change strategy.)
