ATTENTION: Abstract deadline has been extended to Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 11:59 pm ET 

The Inaugural National Health Impact Assessment Meeting planning committee is seeking abstracts for Poster Sessions, Oral Presentations, Breakfast Round Table Topics, Working Group Topics or Full Session Topics at the meeting. You may submit abstracts for any of the above presentation formats. Abstracts are now due by no later than 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Submitters/presenters will be notified of the selected abstracts by early February, 2012. 

 
Please note: the registration fee will be waived for all speakers/presenters, but you are otherwise expected to cover your own travel expenses. Limited travel scholarships are available, however, and you are welcome to submit a scholarship application if financial support is needed.

Deadline to Apply: Healthy Farms, Healthy People State Meetings Learning Community

 As part of its work with the Healthy Farms, Healthy People Coalition, NNPHI will provide selected nonprofit organizations with awards of up to $7,500 to conduct a state meeting in 2012 focusing on opportunities for improving health through the intersection between agriculture and health.  This award will be coupled with limited technical assistance and participation in a learning community of other organizations hosting similar meetings.

Two-page applications are due by February 13, 2012 at 5:00 PM ET

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Call for Proposals: PHSSR: Building Evidence for Decision-Making: Deadline for Receipt of Intent to Apply

Background Information/Seeking: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks to expand the evidence base for effective public health policy and practice through investment in Public Health Services and Systems Research (PHSSR). NNPHI is the administrative support office for PHSSR. This solicitation seeks to expand the evidence base for effective decision-making in public health practice and policy through research that utilizes natural experiments to respond to the questions defined in the National Agenda for PHSSR. Complete eligibility and selection criteria can be found in the Call for Proposals.

Building Capacity to Conduct Effective HIV, STD, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention among American Indian and Alaska Native Youth CFP: Deadline for Declaration of Intent to Apply

Background Information/Seeking: NNPHI and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are collaborating to increase the use of evidence-based HIV, STD, and Teen Pregnancy prevention activities among American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth between the ages of 12-16 years.  Up to eight AI/AN youth serving organizations throughout the nation will be selected to participate in the 12-month program. Participating organizations will receive a $40,000 financial award, as well as professional development training and technical assistance for key staff that will work to increase the application and implementation of evidence-based HIV, STD, and Teen Pregnancy prevention education interventions in their community. Complete eligibility and selection criteria can be found in the Call for Proposals.
